Frequently asked questions
Is Luxempoche really free?
Yes, completely free and ad-free — no in-app purchases, and no subscription. Luxempoche is a personal project built for the Luxembourg community.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Luxempoche works instantly with no sign-up, no login, and no personal data required. Just download and go.
Does the app track my location?
Location is used only on your device to show nearby services and calculate distances. It is never sent to any server or stored anywhere. You can use the app without granting location access.
What data does the app collect?
Essentially none. If you use a Live Activity (for real-time parking updates), the app communicates with our server to keep it up to date — no personal data is involved, and everything is cleared when the activity ends. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers.
Where does the data come from?
All data comes from official public sources: mobiliteit.lu for transport, Ville de Luxembourg for buses and parking, vel'OH! for Vel'oh!, Chargy for EV charging, and data.public.lu for various open datasets. Luxempoche does not generate its own data.
Does it work offline?
Partially. Cached data (stops, station locations, maps) remains available offline. Real-time information like parking availability or bus departures requires an internet connection.
What are Live Activities?
Live Activities show real-time information directly on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Currently available for parking sessions and parking availability tracking, so you can monitor your parking without opening the app.
Is there an Android version?
Not at this time. Luxempoche is a one-person project and currently focused on iOS. An Android version is not planned for the near future.
